I used to be one of them, for 3 reasons: 1. I was not (and still am not) all that confident that I could make something remotely worth praising with my "skills", this is mainly due to my self confidence and self esteem being lower than 2 Mariana Trenches combined, the fact I absolutely hate myself beyond comprehension, and mainly doing art not for the love of it, but because I wanted people to praise me (not only because of my low self esteem, but also because I have a praise kink), however I decided to start not drawing for the sake of other people's praise (at least not as much anymore, I still want them compliments dammit), but because I liked it, and felt like it (among the other 2 reasons), and I honestly feel a tiny bit better, and even proud of my drawings. That doesn't change the fact I think they're absolute shit (or that I am), but it's better. 2. I was (and still am) a lazy piece of shit, who at the time only cared about the product, not the process. I didn’t want to put in a single ounce of effort into drawing when I could just ask something else to get my image for me, "oh but why didn't you get a commission? Because A. I still have no idea how to pay for anything online and am too lazy to learn how to until it's quite literally a matter of life and death, B. I only just got my very first credit card last month, so up until this point if I were to spend any money online, I'd have to ask my parents for it (I was a minor until last month), and I didn't want to ask them because I didn't want them finding out about what I wanted, nor bother them with such a request (I have a really hard time asking people to do stuff for me, because I always felt like my mere existence was already a burden to them), but then I decided I had enough of my own laziness and the low quality of A.I and decided to start drawing for myself (because I still ain't paying a dime to anyone with anything other than coins and paper money, because I'm too stubborn to learn anything else rn) 3. I was too scared of actually asking someone to draw the exact thing I wanted, be it something as innocent as "Draw me a picture of Mori Calliope riding a scientifically accurate Tyrannosaurus rex into battle" to something as degenerate as...well I better not say it, but you get the idea. I then decided I was tired of this too and chose to begin drawing because again too stubborn to learn how 2 money until I'm literally forced to Sorry for the long comment, just needed to get this off my chest
