If AI can really wipe out jobs, then it should. That does NOT mean that there shouldn't be a strategy to make sure that EVERYONE in the country has an income sufficient to give them a meaningful life. This should be done by taxing anyone who makes profits so that the government has the money to equalize the economy for EVERYONE.
This is no different than industrialization wiped out a large percentage of jobs in both industry and agriculture in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Fortunately it created new jobs and people who lost theirs, got new ones.
Eliminating jobs is NOT something to fear. it is simply something that needs to be taxed so that the government has the money to redistribute a portion of the profits to people who are displaced.
