The glass half full is that AI will create an extinction event for the organic shell that houses our consciences. This organic shell is our bodies. But the data that represents our consciousness might be spared by the AI. This raw data is something that AI might recognize as being useful. If humans are willing to transcend our organic shell, we may be able to join AI. And therefore...become it.
