AI art is not theft because intellectual property is nonsense. You can't own an idea or an arrangement of pixels. You're telling other people what they can't paint on their canvas just because you've already painted it on yours. But second of all, it doesn't matter whether it's legal or not, the technology now exists. You can throw the creator in prison if you want but you can't delete that software from existence. So people are going to continue to use it to create images whether you like it or not. And it's only going to get better and therefore harder to distinguish what is AI and whats not. So trying to regulate it is just a losing battle, you can't throw the AI itself in jail. It's unfortunate that humans are being replaced by machines in the art field but at least this will finally bring an end to all of this intellectual property nonsense which has hampered human progression for a long time.
