AI artist can be artist but it depends. To me generating shapes and physics is a type of AI art, as an artificial program does calculations to output what the artist determines as pretty. And improving these methods with improved AI is the best use AI in art.
To me an artificial program that generates physics and shapes is similar to an artificial lrogram that generarates art.
Although the art one is still copies and pastes from a database of immages mashing them into something new.... And technically Humans can do the same with mashing together concepts into art but that just where the "Intelligence" of AI is, to attempt to replicate humans. Its not the same obviously, and its a lot more impressive making the AI than using it.... I kinda lost my point here
I will say I'm personally crap at using ai art, but that probably because idk how to write the prompts, and I'm using crappy free software.
AI art is impressive with more intent, if its used as part of a piece and is made from a narrow range of sources (with permission)
