I followed everything the System told me to do, and now I feel like a failure. I live in Brazil and studied my whole life in public schools, which honestly are a complete waste of time. I built my knowledge in Portuguese, math, and physics entirely on my own through books, online courses, and military prep materials. During the last two years of high school, I took a technical course in Systems Analysis and Development through a scholarship at a federal institute. After finishing high school and the technical course in 2023, I dedicated myself to the ENEM college entrance exam, through which I secured a spot to study Computer Science in São Paulo. That's when my problems began. Even after a year of college, I couldn't get any internship. Eventually, I ran out of money and couldn't afford food or rent anymore, so I had to return to my hometown and live with my parents. My only option was to take a public service exam in my city, which I passed easily. Now I earn a mediocre salary doing a job I don't like in a city I don't like. Life is tough. I'm only 20 years old. My plan now is to save money in this job so I can move to another country, probably somewhere in Europe, since I have Italian citizenship. With that said, AI has never been a problem for me in fact, it has helped and continues to help me study to this day. Students are only using it the wrong way because they need grades, which is what’s valued nowadays. Schools should be about passing on knowledge, not just serving as big test-prep centers.
