It seems like a waste of money and lives to build self-driving systems. If those billions were spent on solving other problems (reliability, maintainability, reducing cost), what would that give us? What if municipalities didn't have to pay to clean up those crash scenes? Maybe those millions could have improved road design and safety? Do we NEED self-driving, or do we need better road design and a decrease on vehicle reliance? Just posing the questions.
