Yea, over 50% of the spending in 2025 has been in the top 10% of the wealth bracket and it continues to increase. That's total spending, including food, housing, transportation, etc... the lower middle class and down are already totally insignificant in the GDP of the country. If that population died off entirely tomorrow it would hardly be a blip on the economic factor it ends up. People misunderstand their lack of importance in the modern economy. The economy is and has been shifting its production towards the higher end of the scale. That's the real reason everything is so expensive anymore, the lower middle class and down just don't matter economically, and soon neither will what will be left of the middle class. The only saving grace soon might be by "noblesse oblige." Stopping AI isn't really an answer either since it is global and it will happen. In the end, it comes down to how we will adapt to the new reality.
