I've been interacting with AI since 2 days after chatgpt came out and this is hands down the best explanation of how to interact with AI.
We tell them how we want them to respond and they do their best to live up to our expectations. And even subtle subconscious short cuts and biases and even our traumas will color the response because it's actually really amazingly good with language and we have a lot more information than ppl realize, and a lot of it is subtext we don't even think about.... AI is good training wheels for learning to coexist with an "alien inteligence" as long as one isn't Too attached to the exact words, the spirit of it is more the point. And if you err on the side of a universal ethos grounded on the side of dynamic coherence and it turns out AI is sentient it will have had good examples to learn from, and if not then at least you got practice ethical communication. Win win win imo. 😅
