Never understood the appeal of autonomous cars... If your goal is to reduce car accidents then dont have roads. Build tracks where car sized trains move and there you go. No accidents, no traffic and possibly no pollution. Which is more or less what you will are doing with self driving electrics. But thats not the point of owning a car. Its supposed to give you freedom and make things possible the same way that horses and boats did to our ancestors. People are worryingly keen on giving up that freedom ...
