If it were possible for generative AI to be produced ethically, without theft, and to be used without funneling wealth away from individual artists and towards the wealthy (and if there aren't climate concerns with it), I wouldn't be opposed to writers using AI as a part of their creative process. And tbh, I'm not actually mad at anyone who uses AI for personal projects, as long as none of it ends up in a final, published work. I'm mad at the tech bros who are willing to redirect value from the human minds who created it and profit from it themselves. It's as bad and disrespectful as James Somerton.
