As a computer science major, I feel like while the artist might be inspired by someone else's ideas or style, they're going to be mixing it within their own creativity and style and the message it wants to showcase, and their own effort, they are not starting out with the intention of taking let's say two paintings as an example and then mixing them up to create a new one, while the Ai algorithm is literally built with the purpose of replicating one person's output and taking it as an input to product an output. So it's actually not really the same thing in my opinion at all.
