Im in tech and what im seeing on the ground is that people are not being replaced yet. People are using AI for coding and it helps but in no way can it replace even juniors yet (i have enterprise Cursor access with all the models provided by my job). This will stay stay the same if this technology does not improve.
If we have another breakthrough then yes everything stated here will be true but the timeframe seems very unlikely to me. Also about the whole 'train to become a plumber' thing is so laughable like this will be a viable job when millions become plumbers. Also i do my own plumbing already and its not something hard to learn especially for millions of people who were smart enough to do white collar work...
At the end of the day everyone should remind themselves that we are gonna die some day anyway so dont stress so much.
