Not with the current way AI (ML) are created. With current AI, all it does is learn that anyone who falls within a certain range are good. For simplification, you can think of this "range" as drawing a circle around a specific type of people. The AI simply anyone falling within in the circle is a good hire, anyone outside is a bad hire. To me, that just means the hiring the exact same types of people. That is LESS diversity rather than more diversity.
