I'm not going to whine about it and appreciate your thoughts on the subject. I have moved passed it as a painter and I'm too old to worry about it and don't have to get with the times. I do just fine as a painter. I can remember back when airbrush was a tool everyone attacked. I had coworkers try to get it out of the building?... seriously. It was pretty annoying that an airbrush was a problem. I can only speak on my experience in dealing with the digital graphics world and how that affected me personally in a way that ultimately identified my strengths. I worked for a few years as a senior designer/illustrator at a greeting card company in which all the younger designers were big into the photoshop and illustrator digital programs work and knew computer skills out their butts but found that my old school design training prevailed every time with getting massive million-dollar contracts with my old school graphic design, drawing and painting abilities. It became so obvious that the clients of our company were not interested in how something was done and were more interested in its marketability and sales in which I led in for that company. The company had several arguments amongst the owners over technology and having everyone be able to handle everything in what they saw as "soup to nuts" from art, design, prepress and production. They came to the clear conclusion that the bottom line was that some designers were just better more gifted or talented designers and illustrators and let them work however they do what they do if they are the money makers for the company. I knew and understood what would sell to the client what was bottom line good design period. I had to applaud the company for letting me do my thing because they knew who made the money and so it's not about how something was done and more about solution. I became the highest paid designer in their history because of vision. I say let the AI folks do what they do and if they do it really well than that's good. I can see it as a great tool and just like any other tool is what you can accomplish with it. I just dislike the term that I heard of "Leveling out the playing field" that an art teacher at a college said about AI. It levels out nothing when it comes to talent but that's why they are teaching and earning a living that way. We all got to do what we got to do. It is a fascinating subject and yes jobs will be lost and nothing new about that
