This narrative was played out at the start of the American Bullshit Machines gaining traction. Why is it coming back again? Probably to feed the pseudo-religion that is growing around it. They need it. They need the money. It is probably more lucrative for this person to harp on about the dangers than to work in any AI field. And kudos to them.
