The thing is… AI making work a non-issue for humans is what we should strive for. The problem is that we are not ready for the socioeconomic changes that must be made. Corporations will need to be forced to pay significantly higher taxes, to subsidize the population with a form of UBI. If done correctly, we reach a post-scarcity world where people are free to pursue happiness and purpose. The sad part is… the corporations and governments will only use this crisis to entrench their control.
