Lately I've seen "AI metal" albums with hundreds of thousands of views, thing my music (and the music of many many other musicians) never achieved, and worse, people are praising them! I saw a dude saying he used "AI and talent", like, choose one, mate lol.
Remember when people were like "nah, artists will be fine, ppl don't care about ai art", well, I guess that was wrong.
I've seen the "ai is a useful tool" argument but, like, I dunno, it seems like a tool for people who don't know their art. For example, I'm no writer so if I wanna write a story, AI will do wonders for me. You're not a musician (probably), so if you wanna write a song, then AI will save you years and years of practice and learning. I don't think many musicians will actually use AI to compose a song, writers for a book, illustrators for a drawing, etc, so it's a tool for people who don't want to do the actual work.
This is honestly pretty sad, I hope it is just a trend that will die down in later years.... but I doubt it
