YouTube trash with bad science info is largely being generated by foreigners from China, India, and Southeast Asia who are gaming YouTube’s system. They lift scripts from English web pages regardless of the web pages scientific credibility, and have it read by AI voices (a decade ago they used to pay a nominal fee to a human narrator but now AI text to speech has improved drastically). YouTube has done nothing to stop these disfinfo scammers because they bring in a lot of money from the ads. And most recently they’ve been using tools like ChatGPT to invent nonsense wholesale.
