GenAI is a completely different thing. Most of the things it outputs are garbage, the AI "artist" is not truly creating art themselves, they are babysitting a machine and curating the things it spits out. I don't think there's zero value in it, but it's less of just another tool to use and more of a completely different activity.
There are people who use AI to convert rough sketches into completed works, which is also valid, but that's still using it as a very different tool, and that's also not the use case most people think about. The result also has less of the artist's style in the final product because as a rough sketch they put less of their style into it, which isn't true for digital.
