The ONLY thing that is notable about this whole 'personhood' question...is that not only do we (you, me, anyone) NOT have an answer for it, we don't even BEGIN to have an answer for it. IOW...that is how IGNORANT we are, of our own existence. There IS an answer to this question...but no one knows what the answer is (including, quite obviously, no one on this pod). So why are you all PRETENDING that you ARE able to answer the question? Answer: Because you are unaware of the dimensions of your ignorance. If you were aware of how much you are not aware of...you would not even attempt the question. And you would certainly NOT proclaim "AI is sentient / aware / conscious / ????'...!
