I agree that AI isn't going to be replacing lawyers anytime soon. That being said. AI is likely going to be getting used more frequently by lawyers wanting to look up case law. You can combat hallucinations very effectively through a few different methods, indexes being one of them. This isn't a real option for ChatGPT unless you are using the API or if there have been relevant plugins released (I haven't been keeping up with the plugins). I think your closing statements were incredibly apt. This is an example of terrible lawyering, not of terrible AI.
