I have a relative who used AI and sings its praises all the time. In my family, we have a group chat involving all the kids, aunts, uncles and parents. Coming from a family that has always liked to make art, we sometimes share our drawings on there. One time I shared a couple sketches I was proud of and working on. A little later, I come back to the chat to see my relative whwho uses AI a lot take my art and put it through AI without my permission and share it. It came out pretty weird but I was not okay with them throwing my art in ai without my permission. I felt it was a huge disrespect to me and my hard work. The fact that even relatives use AI over natural, hard work is very heart breaking to me. This relative treats AI like religion. They’ve even tried to bring AI up to my husband who has zero tolerance with AI and he immediately said to my relative “I think AI is trash, soulless and lazy just like the people who use it.” My relative never brought it up to my husband again.
