I want to be a writer, and back then my writing sucked booty. So I got to learning. I read grammar books, learned the English syntax, figure out which words works better together, etymology (thank you Tolkien) and learned from the old masters. That includes writers I envy for their blind optimism. I'm still learning to this day and I haven't stopped ever since. I hardly ever use AI, but when looking up words or needing grammar correction. I have never used it to come up with ideas or copy and paste a story. I like sitting down in front of my computer or notebook and jot down ideas, and let my mind go wild. And yes, there are many, many days when nothing comes out, or I'm second guessing my own work. If that happens, I tell myself tomorrow will be another day and do something productive with myself. I'm just stubborn and foolish enough to pursue that dream, rather than pursuing a more stable and fulfilling job.
