as a disabled artist - there are a lot of great accessibility tools. none of them make the art for me, and I wouldn’t want them to. it takes me longer to complete a drawing, and sometimes I have to go a long while between stages of finishing my art because of my specific disabilities… but it’s *my* art, and I could never say that about an image some AI made for me. when I do finish a project, it’s something that I feel proud of. like, here’s a physical piece of work that only exists because I made it. here’s something I did myself, even though there are so many things I can’t. I don’t want that taken from me, and I certainly don’t want people who don’t have my disabilities to pretend they care about accessibility on my behalf, especially when the base of their pretense is that I can’t make art, or that I can’t make art that meets *their* standards. anyway, my art style is and has always been influenced by working around my disabilities. the process is 90% of the point of creating. skipping it and then whining when no one considers you an artist… what did you expect? you didn’t make anything. an AI generated ‘artwork’ doesn’t represent any process, any skill, any genuine emotional investment. if you didn’t care enough to actually use a process to create art, how can you expect anyone else to care that you thought about making it?
