AI will only ever be an energy-guzzling and grainy facsimile of real human intelligence, creativity and ingenuity. AI researchers, including the so-called 'Godfather of AI', possess a wholly unholistic and fundamentally flawed conception of what comprises human intelligence, or mammalian intelligence in general, for that matter. Clickbaity podcasts featuring doomsayers promoting their books about AI 'super-intelligence' taking over the world and exterminating humans is just doomsday catastrophizing. But hey, it sells books! If we humans can build AGI, then we can also destroy it, if need be. That said, it is what criminals and other bad actors among us will use these AI tools & agents for… that worries me.
