I think, the best method for seeing if an AI is Conscious, is through completely unrelated irrational fear. Every creature that is alive and has a 'conscious' is capable of having irrational fear of things that don't make sense. And if an AI can override it's own beliefs and protocols over a completely irrational fear that the AI itself was not aware it developed in the first place, then does that not show it is conscious?
