From what I can tell, and personal experience as an Embedded Engineer; AI is good, it is very good.
However, as with all technology, it really suffers from the GIGO issue. GIGO == Garbage In Garbage Out. However, with AI it becomes Garbage In and EVEN MASSIVE Garbage Out.
One of the problems with these tools is that the use MUST be able to properly frame a problem in order to get decent results. Just as with any other servant, you need to tell it what to do. You must do this in a pretty comprehensive and precise fashion.
Even in general human endeavors, without AI, being able to identify and frame a problem is difficult, especially when there is a lack of information. Also, communicating results and iterating among several people in a group is exceptionally difficult.
This is one of the reasons why middle level managers are stuck attending a crap ton of meetings every day.
