AI is not taking our jobs. Other countries are taking the jobs we should be doing because we are not technologically competitive. Total welfare spending £100 billion. Total university fees £58 billion. Makes more sense to spend the58 billion on universities than the £100 billion on welfare and keeping people out of work. The key keeping this country prosperous is to fund university science and tech degrees so we stay technologically ahead. Some of our best universities have or historically have had more foreign students than British students. What is the point of our world class universities educating people from other countries?
Left to me foreign students would by 5% if that. Remember that the only reason Britian was able to colonise the rest of the world was that the Industrial Revolution started here and we were so technologically far ahead. Now we are 2nd tier and panicking becuse we don't have more advanced technology than aggresive nations. It only takes 10-25 years to turn things around.
