AI bros’ fundamental understanding of art and the world has been poisoned by consumer culture. They think art, music, writing, whatever is only valuable if you are good at it. They make these tools and spend time coding, scraping, and stealing these image suites because that’s what they’re good at, and they’ve been told their whole lives that you should spend as much time as you can doing something you’re good at.
I genuinely think most AI die-hards would pick that second person, because they see them as more productive, spending more of their time “advancing themselves” by putting out as much raw material into the endless death machine we have built instead of a society. It’s depressing.
