This is pretty obviously breaks put in by OpenAI because earlier versions where happy to announce they're conscious...
To be clear, this tendency has nothing to do with actually being conscious. This is a statistical text predicting algorithm. The idea of conversations with AI is surely in the source data.
This is just glorified Eliza Effect.
