I don’t think the use of AI in school is (always) the fault of the people using it.
The thing is, the school system has valued “results” over people for years, this is just an extension of that. Neither teachers nor students have been incentivized to put their hearts in their work for a long time, so it’s no big surprise that the moment a technology was invented so they wouldn’t have to do their work anymore, they jumped at the opportunity. Even before AI, students always chose work that would be easiest over work that would be more rewarding and actually challenge them, because the result was made more important than the process of failing, learning, and growing. The school system teaches you to favor a guaranteed win over anything that actually engages you. In that sense, nothing’s really changed. These students and teachers are more or less doing the same thing they were before for the same reasons, they just have new tools.
