The borg assimilation idea is a great way for AI to not destroy us and still meet some inner human drive to connect. lol That might make the kinder "us" insane when the "us" realize the dark impulses some humans have had that will be incorporated into the whole. (maybe locked away so it can't damage the "whole" unless there is a need for it in the cosmic exploration that could follow.
