I've heard on right wing outlets how much capital has been invested in the US economy lately. The issue I have is what the majority of that capital has been invested in. For the first time (as far as I can tell) we invested more into AI, automation, and crypto currency about actual industry work like textiles,manufacturing and brick and mortar facilities. So we slashed funding social safety nets,handed trillions in corporate and billionaire welfare, and pumped AI, automation, and crypto currency drunk. None of that makes sense to me. We started a trade war with our closest allies forcing them to seek alternative trade agreements. Which they had no issue finding. We crippled our farmers, at least our family farms. All the while dismantling our independent institutions that bodyguard us from corporate corruption and political corruption. The US has spent the past 7 months systematically destroying as much of society as possible. All the while at least 60 million American citizens are applauding what's going on because for some reason they believe trade deficits are inherently bad and they believe socialism is essentially anything and everything that benefits the poor and working class. It's like living in an upside-down reality where integrity, honesty, constitutional rights, respect for others, and decency is bad while sexual assault, tax evasion, lying, violence, bigotry, racism, sexism, and hatred for immigrants is good.
