Why is it even a comparison between what artists are doing and what machines are doing? Inspirations and our creativity that sprout from it is our basic human right, as opposed to using others works without legal permission should fall into legality problems. Simple as that. AI isn't human and should not be considered to have human rights, it's use responsibility should fall directly to whoever created/used it.
I think my English is pretty bad here but enough to make a point.
