Art is a representation of the human condition. Whether it's individual(personal) or collective(culture, country, niches etc). Art is an extension of the human soul to communicate inner thoughts and perceptions. Van Gogh is perfect for this. People use AI to make "better" versions of his art, or that one woman who recreated it to be realistic and people label it as "better". They ignore the fact that van Gogh is special because it's his perspective. It's his moods and how he sees life. It's by then an extension of his character or soul. Same goes with music before it became more corporate and soulless. It was to express feelings, your thoughts with a score to show emotions and the power of what you're singing about. Yet people use AI to recreate them don't understand why that's bad. I get using AI to generate something because you aren't creative to do so, like creating logos and other things if you're doing something, have no money and don't have the skills and it must relate. But people make AI art, then posts them on art forums and pretend "hey look at what I made", also the whole "creating AI art takes skill, time, patience and it's harder than your 9 to 5 or actually creating art". Mocking artists even though artists have to be patient to even get into art. You aren't born painting you have to learn and improve gaining skill as you go on. Idk I am with Miyazaki, humans have gave up on themselves and don't even trust humans to do what humans have done for hundreds of thousands of years.
