The "pause AI" statement can only serve to slow the leader so that others can catch up. If everyone were to abide this crazy request, what are all the AI developers to do for the next 6 months? Be unemployed? All of them? Really? How about the AI support staff? Are all of them to be unemployed too? Clearly those calling for this "pause" are financially independent.
