I disagree with what you're trying to point out. ChatGPT does not have its values influenced by its programmers, but by all the data it is trained on. The reason why it was certain that you should save the children, is a consequence of a summary of the values that were found in its training data. It uses all that data to reason and interact with us. This is the difference between a bot (that a programmer pre-decides on its values) and an AI.
