He says "you" to the software like it is some kind of entity. It is a program, a large language model. Its like asking it your pc if it really wants you to update your computer so that your computer runs better, or if it was lying because it in fact can't really want anything as it is just a series of reaction events. With no feeling, consciousness or thoughts outside of the thought and feeling of the people that programed the reactions into it.
