Right now i see a lot of people throwing the towel because AI seems like an uphill battle, if that continues then what exactly are going to use the new models to train on? It will be like an uroboros snake, producing AI slop to teach the new ai models how to create AI art. That is why i think even if right now it does seem like a monster in a distant future it will flop, if we find a way to protect the artists big tech wont have the means to keep training new models.
