I hate AI.
I got my first job as a junior dev one year ago. Back then, we were four devs in the team. Today, I'm the only one left (the three others were fired due to a lack of budget), and my boss got a Mammouth subscription because he thinks that one dev with access to AI is good enough...
Today, nobody reviews the quality of my PRs, nobody talks with me when it comes to building new features or deciding how to implement them in our codebase, and this always leads to poor decisions because I'm a junior dev with only one year of experience but I'm good enough and cheap for my boss. I feel bad as a developer, precisely because I lack experience and I'm forced to rely on AI. Otherwise, I'm too slow to ship code to production, and I'll lose my job. This is a vicious cycle. I know I should quit, but I still need to repay my student debt.
I miss my coworkers and all the constructive discussions we had.
Thank you for your videos, you teach me a lot
