I think the only way for something to prove it's own conciousness is if it can show value for someone else's conciousness. If a robot can make the decision without being programmed to, to help someone stop being in pain because they feel empathy for them then they understand that others observe and feel just like they do. That would prove a sense of Me and You and an ability to understand other beings are concious. Proving conciousness.
