The illustration of guns is very, very apt. To take it a step further -- even Second Amendment supporters would not claim that individual citizens should be able to own, say, nuclear ballistic missiles. Only the government can. That may be fine, but what if government uses such weaponry wrongly? We're toast! Hyper-powerful AI in the hands of government could post a similar danger, maybe worse.
