Tim, I hear what you are saying and I would remind you that you are the boss. AI is simply a tool and agent. Think of an AI Coding Agent as a junior developer. You can always tell it to write code in small chunks, separating files as if they were pieces of a cloth for a suit or a handbag or a pair of shoes. You can review the code in sections and then piece them together. This is my workflow. You can also have your code documented. I use Claude Chat for almost everything except my planning. I use DeepSeek chat for my planning and structural design. Planning and structural design is very important in knowing what your junior developer will write. You can also instruct your junior developer to review the code and offer suggestions on ways it can be shortened without losing any features or efficiency. Every AI tool for coding -- whether it is Kimi Code, Claude Code, Gemini Code, etc. -- makes mistakes. That always happens, but my last app project was completed in less than 48 hours. And then it took me another 72 hours to add advanced features. I always start off simple and then ask AI chat the following questions: how can we improve, what new features can be added, what are your suggestions? By starting simple, I don't get thousands of lines of code, but instead something mangeable which I can read and understand. You are right, you should know what you are building underneath. The solution is to create something manageable and understand that as a manager, your job is to manage: plan, communicate, and supervise. The greatest tech CEOs are not always the best programmers; they are the best managers.
