I liked the armchair specialist chiming in on translators telling everyone when GPT-3/3.5 how localization jobs won't be replaced. My guy, you don't even understand the job before, which heavily utilizes translation tools making especially short phrases downright boilerplate and automatic - how would you comprehend what actual LLMs would do to the industry? Turns out, it completely demolished human-made translation and delegated paid professionals to quality control at most.
I don't mind having a kneejerk reaction to something you just don't understand, but boy is it weird listening to people double down on nonsense without a single thought spent on what they're even debating.
