Software developer here (business software, not specific AI) First : I really appreciate your point of view on AI stealing explicit artist's work. But I have issue with the phrase that AI is replacing you. AIs are not making you stop doing what you love to do. AI-technology is on a path to remove the need for human labour: which is the act of performing tasks for the sake of the output, to "earn a living", and to free up your time to do what you love. The issue is really the transition to get to this utopia (and will likely be never reached). Current economy still heavily relies on humans to produce for other humans (via corporations) in order to make a profit to pay for your needs. This economy creates (and has so for a few centuries now) a very perverse set of incentives to abuse a large number of people into slave-like conditions (without a job you'll end up "on the street"). Until AI and robotics get to a stage where they can fulfill the needs of the vast(!) majority the population and reaching the age of abundance, AIs may be competing with humans for those jobs - and this will be disruptive, and cause many (including myself as a high-end software developer) to lose their job because AI can do it cheaper, faster and more reliable. And as a society we need to support these individuals (every type of job is at risk, not only artists) But it will NOT prevent you from doing what you love to do and sharing your results, it will NOT remove the human-to-human appriciation and sharing (unless you let it). Your paper, pencils, brushes, inks and paints are not taken away from you.
