I don’t understand how companies will make more money by laying everyone off in preference of AI software. Yeah sure in the short term they’ll save on salaries and drive operational efficiency but long term it doesn’t make sense.
The huge majority of businesses rely on the general public’s spending power. If there was 95% unemployment, the massive majority of businesses would go bust as no one would be buying their products. Doesn’t matter how efficiently they run their business. So it feels like turkeys voting for Christmas when businesses celebrate ’efficiencies’ that AI brings.
Maybe I’m missing something?
