Mr Sanders, This is inevitable. we need to train the next generation to service the robots and train them. all while expanding the the safety nets for those who need to retrain. we need to implement these system to offer self driving solutions for transport before a private does it. to retain control of our networks. this isnt too far, London has a line that operates autonomously since 2000. rather than fighting the robot revolution, that is coming no matter what. we need to prepare for it with policies to prevent the exploitation of the tecnology. prices need to be strictly controlled. UBI needs to be implemented in some way, and we need to retain the technology, not the corporations. if the corporations control this technology then the goverment job becomes moot. they can just shut down the plants here and go elsewhere. robots dont need a house. I, like you, dont claim to have the answer, but i know the govt needs to be in controlof this, not a private citizen, or a corporation. as such, we need to institute checks and control their implementation. second, we must overturn the rule that corporations need to work for the benefit of their shareholders, tbh we should do away with shareholder's power over corporations. they can decide who seats at the table, but then they cannot control it any further for their term. the robot tax is useful as well. its a way to control the indiscriminate expansion, tho the robots we are talking about will be expensive so for the time being cheap labour will do. first and foremost, training the population to use the change for the better is IMPERATIVE. as many jobs will disappear but many more will rise. we should regulate that 1 engineer can only cater to a certain amount of robots at a set location. and institute a minimum wage for those jobs that is always x times more than the livable wage (not minimum). but to do so we need a functioning goverment. we need to repeal citizen united and take back control of the money that flows into the senators. as CU allows for foreign entities to influence our politics and thats unconstitutional. we need to institute positions and branch of governments that oversee AI and Robotics (the department of Robotization if you will) that operates independently from the government, sort of like the FED does. Robocorps will become big. and stronger than banks. as they wont need much money to work relentlessy and will have a big impact on our day to day activities. as robots can be taught to replicate as needed, or even repair themselves. energy will be the vital component of the operation, as robots and expecially AI will take an inordinate amount of energy to operate, so we should expand our clean energy solutions, Wind, Solar, Water. this will create more jobs in that industry as well. the bottom line is rather than resist the change, we should prepare for it.
