"Claude having a scrap of humanity" should still be taken w/ a huge grain of salt, given their plan to switch to monthly subscriptions w/ a limited number of user tokens after getting companies to sign on board w/ it w/ no subscription & as many tokens as they needed. Absolutely a case of "the first hit is free."
