IMO, the transformation due to AI is different than the internet. When Internet arrived, people learnt the skills like Web development at home and still remained white collar. After AI removes many engineers and keeps only handful of supervisors, not all will be able to transition into blue collar workers easily. And those who will learn AI skills, will eventually be replaced anyway, because remember that AI is not like Web development, but it's rather a ever evolving super intelligence. At the end of road, AI may engineer itself.
